This hedge trimmer is designed for removing a small amount of material to maintain shrubs such as boxwood, barberry, and taxus.  If you often trim shrubs with tougher, thicker foliage, such as viburnum or burning bushes, we recommend upgrading to a larger model with wider teeth.  RedMax hedge trimmers with 'R' at the end of the model number have wider gaps between the cutting teeth.
