The owner of iGoPro Lawn Supply and LawnCrack, Ryan Sciamanna, just bought a new home and it will be the 'set' for the how to lawn and landscape videos.  It needs a lot of work, which is perfect because we want to cover every lawn and landscape topic possible.

How To Lawn and Landscape Videos and Blogs Coming Soon

How to lawn and landscape videos will begin in mid-late September 2021 and continue indefinitely!

Here is a list of the content we have planned over the next year or so.  Each project while be turned into a single video with complimentary blog post specific to that topic.  The goal is to save you time and money as you perform similar projects on your own lawn and landscape, or allow you to start offering additional services if you are a growing lawn care business owner.

  • Lawn mowing – How to mow properly with tips and tricks.
  • Lawn care – Fertilization, weed control, watering, aerating, seeding/overseeding, etc.
  • Tree care – Tree removal, pruning, stump grinding, and general care.
  • Landscape design – Removal of an old, overgrown landscape and installation of a brand-new landscape. I’ll walk you through my process of designing the landscape including picking out plants and everything I am thinking about along the way.
  • Landscape maintenance – Pruning, mulching, and cleanups
  • Hardscaping – Pavers and probably more like some rock work and/or small retaining walls
  • Garden pond - Cleaning and improving the aesthetics of a patio pond.  We might even throw some fish in it!
  • Pressure washing - Cleaning of brick, pavers, and rock with pressurized water to make them look new again.
  • Lawn equipment maintenance – How to maintain popular and common lawn and garden products including the Proslide XT lawn mower sulky, RBG Blade Grinder, and much more for landscape professionals.  Also to include general maintenance and care of lawn mowers, string trimmers, leaf blowers, chainsaws, and the like.

Eventually we will get to landscape lighting and lawn sprinkler system/drip irrigation system installation.  We'll probably also address some lawn drainage issues and include things like gutter cleaning and similar exterior services.

I'm probably forgetting several topics!  I am also sure more ideas will come to me as we go.  I'd love your feedback and/or suggestions in the YouTube video comments!

I’m also thinking about expanding the content to show some of the repairs, maintenance, and upgrades I will make to the home’s interior…

Before Photos and The Game Plan For Upcoming Landscape Projects

To get you a better idea of just how much lawn and landscape work needs to be done to Ryan's new place, below are the before pictures and information about the how to lawn and landscape videos that will be created as each area of the lawn and landscape is addressed.

Front Landscaping Removal, Design, and Installation

The plan with the front of the house landscape beds is to completely revamp them.  More than likely every single existing plant will be removed and replaced.

We'll cover how to remove a large number of plants including large shrubs and ground covers, plus hard to get rid of plants like Yucca.

Next we'll design the new landscape covering everything from picking out the plants based on sunlight exposure and space available in the beds, the cost, how to install plants properly, and more.

Finally will be the landscape installation where we walk you through executing a landscape design.

Entrance Landscaping With Seating

Behind the brick walls creating the private entrance we will also be removing the existing plants and installing new.  This area will also include seating incorporated into the landscape and more than likely some path lighting and possibly another water feature of some kind.

Hedgerow needing to be pruned

General Landscape Maintenance Such as Pruning Plants and Mulch Installation

A couple of the plants will stay!  We'll cover pruning and cutting back all types of plants commonly found in landscape beds.

Mulch is always a nice touch to give a landscape bed that extra aesthetic appeal.  We will go into detail on how to mulch like a pro!

Plants to be removed

Turning Plants and Trees Back Into Turf Areas

There are several areas in the lawn and landscape that will be 'turned back into turfed areas.'  In other words, there are currently plants or trees in these areas but will soon be part of the lawn.

Trees to turn back into lawn

Turning the smaller plants back into turf will be relatively quick and easy compared to the trees!  We'll cover how to grind out the stumps and grade out these areas so they seamlessly integrate in with the existing lawn.

Turning Landscape Beds Back Into Turf Areas

The overgrown shrubs out by the street need to be removed because they really do limit visibility as you enter and exit the driveway.  The are extremely overgrown and don't look good anyway!

Since these plants are so large, we will cut them down with a chainsaw and grind out the stumps much like we will do to several smaller trees.

Stump in lawn

Tree Removal, Tree Pruning, and Stump Grinding

There is one pretty large stump and a handful of smaller existing stumps in the large already.  We will be cutting down large plants and more smaller trees covering how to do it safely and everything else you need to know.

Since we will have so many stumps to grind, we will be renting a very large stump grinder to make the process as efficient as possible.

Paver patio with drainage

Paver Patio and Hardscaping

Yes!  Will will be incorporating pavers and possibly retaining walls in our how to lawn and landscape videos.  As you can see, the paver patio has a drainage system beneath so we will cover everything you need to know about properly draining a paver patio as well.

The first step will be power washing the pavers to clean them up.  Eventually ever paver will be pulled up and the replaced after re-grading the sand base beneath.  The home and walls will also be pressure washed.

Patio pond

Pond Care

The back patio came with a pond!

And, like everything else in this lawn and landscape, it needs work!  We'll be covering everything from how to clean, maintain, and troubleshoot a patio or garden pond with a waterfall!

Stumps with weeds around it

Lawn Care - Fertilization and Weed Control

The yard has a ton of weeds in it!  Which is perfect, because we can show you how to get rid of weeds in your lawn for good!  We even have violets which are very hard to control, so we can show you the trick to getting rid of violets in your lawn too.

Aerating and Overseeding

More lawn care content will include how to aerate and overseed along with best practices such as watering properly and lawn mowing best practices.
